Thoughts on One Direction

I can't explain why I'm obsessed with One Direction. They are famous yet they help other people.

Harry Styles

Harry Styles skating from Night Changes video. I just love this part. <3

Animals by Maroon 5

"Animals"

In my opinion, Animals by Maroon 5 is like a creepy song for me.

Freedom?

These past few days, we really didn't have classes. Most of the time, we were given by the teachers free period for play practices but we really don't practice. Instead, we played with our gadgets, played music, and others were sleeping. I can tell that it was fun.

FOUR

One Direction's FOUR album is nice. You could listen to it all day and all night.

Night Changes

"Even when the night changes
It will never change me and you"

My favorite lyrics from Night Changes by One Direction.

Even though the days and night are changing, we are still the same.

One Direction-FOUR

"FOUR"

Music Quote (#4)

If we have problems, most of us listen to music. We listen to slow music because the lyrics can relate to what we are feeling.

Music Quote (#3)

I agree with this quote because music can change people. The lyrics make people understand the true meaning of life. If it can change people, it can also change the world.

Music Quote (#2)

Music makes us stronger. If we have problems, music tells us that there is still hope. All problems have solutions.

Music Quote (#1)

We cannot stop others from lying. In this world, there are people who are honest (speak the truth) and people who lie (noise).

Bang Bang (Jessie J, Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj)

Music Video

A music video or song video is a short film integrating a song and imagery, produced for promotional or artistic purposes. Modern music videos are primarily made and used as a marketing device intended to promote the sale of music recordings. Prior to the 1980s, these works were described by various terms including "illustrated song", "filmed insert", "promotional (promo) film", "promotional clip", "promotional video", "song video", "song clip" or "film clip".

Music videos use a wide range of styles of contemporary video making techniques, including animation, live action filming, documentaries, and non-narrative approaches such as abstract film. Some music videos blend different styles, such as animation, music, and live action. Many music videos interpret images and scenes from the song's lyrics, while others take a more thematic approach. Other music videos may be without a set concept, being merely a filmed version of the song's live performance.

SoundCloud

Music is Life

Music is a huge factor in our lives. Music allows us to make sense of things. It enables us to express ourselves through the emotions that we are feeling. Through music, we are able to observe the world in a different light, which can be either negative or positive, depending on our mood.

I especially like songs that have meaningful lyrics—lyrics that make you ponder over what kind of person you want to be, what kind of role or purpose you have in this world, or what kind of an effect you have on others around you. Music like that is, in my opinion, the best kind of music to listen to.

We have heard people say that they cannot live without music.

Rude by Magic

"Can I have your daughter for the rest of my life? Say yes, say yes, 'cause I need to know. You said I'll never get your blessing 'til the day I die, tough luck my friend but the answer is 'no'."
The guy seems to be whining because the woman of his dream's father couldn't give them his blessing. He is asking his girlfriend's father for a blessing to marry his daughter. The father says no and he even asks again, hoping the father would say yes. But, he says no once again. He says, "I'm gonna marry that girl, marry her anyway" which means that he doesn't care what the father says, he is still going to marry her because his love for his girlfriend is so strong.

"Why you gotta be so rude? Don't you know I'm human, too?
He is trying to say that he is also a human and that he has feelings.

Music Journalism

Music Journalism is media criticism and reporting about music topics. It began in the eighteenth century as commentary on what is now thought of as classical music. Today a more prominent branch of music journalism is an aspect of entertainment journalism, covering popular music and including profiles of singers, bands, and album reviews.

Music journalism has its roots in classical music criticism, which has traditionally comprised the study, discussion, evaluation, and interpretation of music and its performance.

Music

Music is everything.

Life and Music

Life is a song. Love is the lyrics.

Others say that if there is no music, there would be no life. If there are no lyrics, there are no songs. Everywhere we go, there is always music.

Music is Life

This picture states that music is life. Most of the lyrics of the songs are related to our lives. If we cannot express our feelings, music speaks.

Philippine Folk Music

The traditional music of the Philippines, like the folk music of other countries, reflects the life of common, mostly rural Filipino. Like its counterparts in Asia, a lot of traditional songs from the Philippines have a strong connection with nature. However, much of it employs the diatonic scale rather than the more "Asian" pentatonic scale.
Traditional Philippine music is reflective of the country's history as a melting pot of different cultures. Among the dominant cultural strains noticeable today are Hispano-Mexican, American and to some extent Chinese, Indian and Islamic. It is thus difficult to strictly classify the whole corpus of Philippine music as either Western or Eastern.
A frequently used system is to classify it according to ethno-linguistic or cultural divisions: for example, traditional Tagalog music, which is somewhat more Hispanic in flavour, differs from Ifugao music & Maranao kulintang music.

Problem by Ariana Grande

"Hey baby even though I hate ya, I wanna love ya, I want you."
For me, she is saying that she likes this person, but the guy is causing a lot of problems for her. It would be easier if she didn't like him. She is saying that without him in her life, she would have one less problem (he is the problem).

"I got 99 problems but you wont be one".
This song is about loving someone even though you know they are not good for you. It's like a love/hate relationship. She hates him, but she wants to love him and then later she realizes she has one less problem without him.

My Journalism Class

(Topic not related)

My Journalism class is fun and interesting. I learned many things about Journalism. For our performance task, we were asked to role play about the dangers of being a journalist. My role was a terrorist. Sometimes, in our Journalism class, our teacher lets us watch some documentary or something relating to Journalism. Once, we watched about Queen Elizabeth I. We learned so many things.

"Banning of Field Trips"

(Topic is not related)

Banning of field trips is a good idea because it is for our safety. But it is also not a good idea because field trips give students the opportunity to explore different places. When going to a field trip, we should research about the place you are going to visit to know if it is safe or not. Also, to know what to wear in order to be safe and prevent from slipping, sliding, and many more. You should also ask permission from your parents if you are allowed to go to the field trip. There should be a teacher or a chaperone to guide the students when going to a field trip. All of us should be careful and always pray to God.

Some facts

Music was NEVER invented. Birds sing, water drips, leaves rustle, and fire crackles.

Music was discovered not invented. Everyone hums, taps, beats, etc. Music can include ANY sound. The earliest humans would make music by putting sounds together which they enjoyed. This could be beating on something or clapping, humming, whistling--making sounds.

Music; world

When we listen to music, it's like that we are not aware of what is happening around us. When we put our earphones, it's like we are out of our world.

Music is Life

"Music is my life. The lyrics are my story"

As we all know, some songs are related to our life. It's like our own story. The lyrics express how we feel.

Grow Old With You by Daniel Padilla

"I wanna make you smile whenever you're sad"
This means that you'll do anything for that person in order for him/her to be happy.

"All I wanna do is grow old with you"
You'll do anything for a person because you want to grow old with him/her.

Unconditionally by Katy Perry

I think that Katy Perry tells us to be free, accept and just love everyone who's out there because love can really save a life and make us feel just unconditionally loved.

"I'll take your bad days with your good, walk through this storm I would, I'd do it all because I love you"

I'll take the bad days because they're a part of us and the good days are worth the bad ones.

Coldplay

Coldplay are a British rock band formed in 1996 by lead vocalist Chris Martin and lead guitarist Jonny Buckland at University College London (UCL). After they formed under the name Pectoralz, Guy Berryman joined the group as a bassist and they changed their name to Starfish. The band renamed themselves "Coldplay" in 1998.

Trouble by Coldplay

"Trouble" is a song about what happens when those feelings finally come out and how it changes the friendship for the worse. But you can't choose who you fall in love with. It's as if his emotions spun this web that he's caught in.

In this song,  a spider web is used to portray the person's feelings. The spider web represents guilt from a past relationship with someone.
"A spider web is tangled up with me... the thought of all the stupid things I said".
The person regrets about the things he has said or done to this person. The person's feelings seem complex, making it appropriate to use a spider web with so many different patterns to express himself.
"Never meant to cause you trouble... never meant to do you harm".
Now he is left with this "spider web" of regrets for this person.

Human by Christina Perri

"But I'm only human and I bleed when I fall down"
"Your words in my head, knives in my heart. You build me up and then I fall apart".
These lines explain that he may not feel the same way she does. He may tell her things that build her up and make her feel hopeful. But he does or says something causing her to doubt how he feels.

Let Her Go by Passenger

Let Her Go is a song that makes you understand what it means to lose things you take for granted.

“Only know you’ve been high when you’re feeling low.”
This is a reference to happiness. Without feeling happy, you can’t feel unhappy. To go from a high to a low is something we can all relate to.

Staring at the ceiling in the dark
Same old empty feeling in your heart
‘Cause love comes slow and it goes so fast
Well you see her when you fall asleep
But never to touch and never to keep
‘Cause you loved her too much
And you dived too deep

-For me, he still feels the same sadness of missing her. He thinks and dreams of her frequently but it doesn’t bring her back to him in reality.

I can sum this song up into one simple phrase. “You don’t know what you have until it’s gone.”

Invisible by Hunter Hayes

Invisible is a song is about tomorrow that you'll see a better day, that you're not alone, and you're not invisible. It's about people going through hard times and bullying. People will always say things about you and leave you out. One day, it will come to an end and the pain will be gone.

"Someday you'll look back on all these days and all this pain is gonna be invisible."
I think this line means that no matter how hard things get, you can't give up because once you get through it, you'll look back and it'll be like it wasn't even there. It will be invisible.

One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain.

When music hits us, we feel no pain. We call it soft music. We listen to music at night so we can sleep.

"Music helps me forget about my problems"

"Music helps me forget about my problems"

When we listen to music, we forget our problems. Most of the time, when we are sad or depressed, we listen to music because it helps lessen our problem. We can listen to pop music or happy songs to forget our problems. We understand the lyrics of the song when we are emotional.

Fix You by Coldplay

Ever heard of the song "Fix You" by Coldplay? If not, listen to it! I really love this song.
This song deals with true love, helping someone in your time of need, and learning from your mistakes. It might have to do something with the Holy Spirit.

"Lights will guide you home.."
This probably means that wherever we are, there will always be a light to guide us through our way back home, and that light is the Holy Spirit.

"Music is what feelings sound like"

"Music is what feelings sound like"

When we cannot express our feelings, music can speak for us. When you are listening to sad music, it means that you are emotional. If you are happy, you listen to pop music. Most of the time, we can relate to the lyrics of the song.

Introduction to Music

Music is an art form whose medium is sound and silence. Its common elements are pitch, rhythm and dynamics. The creation, performance, significance, and even the definition of music vary according to culture and social context.
